I'm rendering a high quality 1920 x 1080i file (from a cable access show I air twice a month) into HDV 1080-30p 1440x1080 with a m2t extension and rendering crashes every time. The original clip is 35 GiB in size. Yea I know it's big

Also the PC has 4GB of ram with a 5GB swap partition, 32bit Fedora Linux.
Kdenlive version: 0.9.3
MLT version: 0.8.7

I have some questions:

Does the large size have anything to do with the crashes?

Will adding another 4GB of ram help? Note I have two slots left.

Will adding an SSD drive help - I'm thinking I maybe running into latency issues, but I'm not sure?

Will upgrading to 64bit Fedora help?

Thanks,

Jeff

PS, I've submitted a bug report in Mantis.
