Need correct video profile

Tue Jun 21, 2011 12:22 pm
I am very new to video editing and after a lot of research have choosen Kdenlive as my editor. I am using a Sony SR-7 camcorder. The video from this camcorder is 1440x1808i at 59.94fps.

When I look for the correct profile in Kdenlive the closest I can find is 1440x1080i at 29.97fps. When I use this profile the new video is in slow motion while the sound is at normal speed. This results in the sound ending about halfway through the video. I am assuming the slow motion is caused by the incorrect profile. I looked in the new profiles for download section but again the profile I need is not an option.

How can I get the correct profile for my video? Other than this issue Kdenlive worked great on my .mts video.

Hi Dave,

it would be nice, if you could drop a line about the solution of your problem. Everybody with the same problem in the future will be thankful.

I often encounter threads with a question and then a short "OK, I have found a solution." as a second or third post - and I hate it.

Thank you and cheers

I second the request for an explanation on how you solved the problem as I have a somewhat similar issue.

Thanks in advance!

Use one of the HD 1080 29.97 fps profiles. The source video is not actually 59.94 fps, it is 59.94 Hz. An oddity between that file format and ffmpeg libs causes Kdenlive to report that as the clip's fps.
