sudden and severe rendering issue

Sat Jul 28, 2012 10:11 pm
Hi, everything was going great, but suddenly rendering has gone mad. Rendering seems fine, a little quicker than usual perhaps, but then rendered file is not as it should be. If I play it with melt command it wont open at all, if i play using vlc it playes a few scrambled frames, then stops.

here is my code:

gingerling@gingerling:~$ kdenlive
QWidget::insertAction: Attempt to insert null action
QWidget::insertAction: Attempt to insert null action
kdenlive(3606) Render::checkMaxThreads: // TRACTOR PROBLEM
//STARTING RENDERING: true , false , "/usr/bin/melt" , "hdv_1080_25p" , "avformat" , "-" , "/tmp/kde-gingerling/kdenliveJH3606.mlt" , "/home/gingerling/video_editing/Ethletics/layer1.ogv" , () , ("acodec=libvorbis", "ab=128k", "ar=44100", "aq=50", "vcodec=libtheora", "minrate=0", "vb=8000k", "aspect=@16/9", "pass=1", "threads=1", "real_time=-1") , -1 , -1
Started render process: "/usr/bin/melt" "/tmp/kde-gingerling/kdenliveJH3606.mlt -profile hdv_1080_25p -consumer avformat:/home/gingerling/video_editing/Ethletics/layer1.ogv progress=1 acodec=libvorbis ab=128k ar=44100 aq=50 vcodec=libtheora minrate=0 vb=8000k aspect=@16/9 pass=1 threads=1 real_time=-1"
Rendering of "/home/gingerling/video_editing/Ethletics/layer1.ogv" finished

kdenlive(3606)/kdecore (KConfigSkeleton) KCoreConfigSkeleton::writeConfig:
KCrash: Application 'kdenlive' crashing...
KCrash: Attempting to start /usr/lib/kde4/libexec/drkonqi from kdeinit
sock_file=/home/gingerling/.kde/socket-gingerling/kdeinit4__0

googling the tractor problem threw up a few previous threads, all refering to problems after an update. anyone know whats going on?

best

well, I have made some inroads. I think basically the issue was mostly cause by the beginning of the vid being cut off - I have but a two second colour clip in there which seems to soothe things a little. Does anyone else do this as a matter of course?

melt still not playing from comandline. Can someone tell me the command needed step by step, including things like sudo or file paths if needed? perhaps I am doing it wrong. :S

thanks
