Hi, One of the major reasons to install MDV 2008 i.o. leaving 2007.1 on my desktop / myth server, was for the new version of Kdenlive. The 0.5 version has all the features required for decent video editing (with the current features you can really do pretty neat stuff). I was waiting for that in order to start cleaning up and editing my footage from the last ten years. However from the first movie I made I had a huge problem: when exporting the result back to DV to store it back on tape for backup reasons, it turns out that the audio is not in sync anymore with the video. This seems to stem from dropped frames in the video. That means that Kdenlive is unusable to me. I need to be able to store the result onto tape. DVD's are not trustworthy enough for long time periods and I want to be sure to be able to watch this stuff in 20 years from now (and tape holds much longer then DVDs). Does anyone have any experience with Kdenlive DV export? Or could anyone try if DV export works for them on their PC? For the moment I don't have a clue where the problem might be. I created a bug report on the Mandriva bugzilla: http://qa.mandriva.com/show_bug.cgi?id=35785 for in case it would be a packaging problem. I'm using the standard packages of Mandriva 2008 (Kdenlive 0.5) on a 64bit machine. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ciao, Sitor |

Could anyone confirm that this is a general problem or on the contrary let me know that it is not general? That would at least already be one step ahead. Thanks, Sitor |
