AVCHD jerky

Wed Mar 04, 2009 1:44 pm

Kdenlive 0.7.2.1 / ubuntu 8.10 / On 2 PC : laptop (T61) and desktop

I have a problem with rushs AVCHD after rendering.

The movie is jerky in result, in all export codecs availables.

When i play a rush AVCHD in Kdenlive before make a rendering, the clip is jerky too.

All the others formats (not AVCHD) work fine and they are fluid when playing and after rendering...

What is your camcorder? Did you publish your camcorder in the database? Please provide some footage for testing. There is heavy work on FFmpg side at the moment for good AVCHD support as well as hardware decoding.

Thanks. I imported your file on our server. I could view your files in FFplay and MLT and Kdenlive. AVCHD decoding is the work of FFmpeg. There is heavy development. I could play your files with latest FFmpeg. But there are still problems when moving around, this is a known timestamp issue. This was addressed in a patch on FFmpeg mailing list, which will be committed soon. Then we need to adapt MLT and then Kdenlive will be AVCHD fully compliant. So wait a few more days.

Thinks a lot for your support and all your work.

Kdenlive is in my point of view, the best open source video editor than i tested.
