Hey everyone. ^^
I have a problem. I finished my project now, but kdenlive won't render it as I'd like to. I made an AMV (Anime Music Video, something like that: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5O9dZF2q6R8), in HD. One episode I used to took scenes from was in the ".mp4"-format. In kdenlive, this scene works perfectly in the preview. However, when I render the whole project- the part just stands still. It's a frozen picture, that stays as long as the MP4-scene would play... My goal is to render this project, with that scene -not- frozen. I want it to work how it should. But I don't even know what the problems are, so I provide as much information as I can, that may be relevant, to get help. · in the filename of the ".mp4"-Video, "H264" and "AAC" are mentioned. · The whole project is in HD, and I want to render it in HD. · My version of kdenlive is 0.7.3. · My kdenlive doesn't want to render the project in HDV, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, XVid4, H.264 and Flash. It also won't render in anything when I set the destination to Web Sites, DVD, Media Players, Mobile Devices. · If I want to render Lossless or HQ, only "HuffYUV Lossless (video) + PCM (sound)" works. Anyone have an idea? :( It would be really sad if I can't render it, since I've put a lot of effort in this and it's my first video editing project ever made, and I'm happy with the "result". |

If I remember correctly, a bug like that (cannot find the reference anymore) was fixed in MLT 0.4.0. This means you will need to upgrade to Kdenlive 0.7.4 / MLT 0.4.2... no guarantee though.

There were bug fixes in the mlt v0.4.0 release[1] (requires kdenlive 0.7.4) and one after 0.4.2 (git trunk) [2] that very well may apply here.

Hmm, I can play all sorts of videos. I just cannot render in anything... I'd like to render in H.264, but I don't have the possibility. That's what it looks like: http://img3.imagebanana.com/img/cyin1e0z/Screenshot.png
I just can't choose it. I have Kdenlive 0.7.4 now, and use the MLT-Version 0.4.2 I solved the problems with the frozing scene, but I still can't render properly... |

You ffmpeg is not installed with x264. Either install x264 package or check your distribution or install an unstripped version of FFmpeg.

Ask your distribution, or tell people here your distribution so that they can help.

Whoops, I just saw that I didn't even mention my distribution.
It's Ubuntu 9.04, Jaunty Jackalope. Edit: AAH, it works now, with the latest version! =D Harhar, now I love Kdenlive even more. ^-^ |

You are using a kdenlive package that not depends on unstripped ffmpeg libraries (jaunty regular package or dominik stadler package). If you want to use anyone of those packages you need to manually install the unstripped ffpmeg libs :
sudo apt-get install libavcodec-unstripped-52 libavdevice-unstripped-52 libavutil-unstripped-49 libswscale-unstripped-0 libavformat-unstripped-52 Or you have an other choice, update your system with my ppa : deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/sunab/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main the kdenlive package I provide depends nativelly on every lib needed to work with a full featured Kdenlive. Including unstripped ffmpeg libs providing the widest range of codecs (even those with patents troubles), frei0r-plugins, dvgrab, recordmydesktop, ... After full update with this ppa you will have the yesterday latest versions : kdenlive 0.7.5 and MLT 0.4.4 |
