Rendering to OGG?

Wed Aug 05, 2009 5:01 pm
I'm having trouble getting kdenlive to output valid Ogg/Theora files. The render seems to go fine, but when I try to view the file I only get the first video frame or a black frame.

I'm using kdenlive 0.7.3 on kubuntu 9.04. I installed the libav*-unstripped library versions, re-ran the config wizard, and I can successfully export in AVI, MPEG2, MPEG4, FLV, and H.264. Ogg files made with OggConvert and ffmpeg2theora both work fine.

When I import the ogg file back into Kdenlive, I get only the first frame.

Here's the output from mplayer:

libmlt is 0.3.8-0ubuntu2 and libmlt++ is still 0.3.8-0ubuntu1 - could that be the problem?

Unfortunately, there were problems rendering to Ogg Theora in older releases of MLT and Kdenlive, yours included. You must try to use Kdenlive 0.7.5 with MLT 0.4.4.
