I have a kdenlive 7.0.5 and some AVCHD films (Panasonic TZ7 foto camera). How to render them to DVD?
When I try to render and choose DVD any option is disabled (PAL/NTSC). How to create VOB files.

I know that movie should be rescaled from HD to DVD but how to do it?

I have also FFMPEG installed.

To be honest in my kdenlive rendering to DVD is disabled even I have completely new project so maybe I should install any codec but which one?
PAL 4:3 VOB
PAL 4:3 VOB 2 pass
PAL 16:9 VOB
PAL 16:9 VOB 2 pass
All are disabled -> White cross on red is on the left side. The same is with NTSC.

hi , your problem is a well known question.
When encoding profiles appear with red crosses it means that ffmpeg is compiled without a codec needed in these profiles.
In your case you have installed on your system a version of ffmpeg called "stripped version" which cames with some encoders disabled such as mpeg2,mpeg4,h.264...
It's possible to install an unstripped version of ffmpeg libraries, what is your system ?

Another question, how did you installed kdenlive 0.7.5 ?
Verify if the package named "libavcodec-unstripped-52" is installed on your system.

After installing the unstripped version of the libavcodec package, in Kdenlive choose Run Config Wizard from the Settings menu.

I installed ustripped packages manually as in follows:
http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=247014
but when I try to install kdenlive from:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/sunab/ppa/ubuntu jaunty main
it says:
remove the package libpostproc-unstripped-51 before
So, how and when can I download kdenlive to support unstripped packages?

hi RalphOcean_,

It seems that something is messed up on your system.
The only location you sould look to install kdenlive in a very simple way is here

As something went wrong with your previous installs it is safer to undo all :

1- Remove all the kdenlive related packages : sudo apt-get remove --purge kdenlive kdenlive-data libmlt1 libmlt1-data melt inigo libmlt++2 libmlt++1 (libmlt++1 is only installed if you have installed kdenlive with the official repos before)
2- Remove all unneeded packages : sudo apt-get autoremove

3- Case A : you have the unstripped ffmpeg installed on your system then update your packages : sudo apt-get update (my ppa contains a patched version off ffmpeg to solve some bugs)
Case B : you have the stripped ffmpeg installed on your system then goto 4 (this version will be replaced automaticlly by the unstripped version on next step)
Case C : you don't have any version of ffmpeg installed on your system then goto 4 ( the unstripped version will be installed automaticlly on on next step)

4- Install Kdenlive : sudo apt-get install kdenlive

5- Purge old kdenlive config file in you home : rm /home/your_user_name/.kde/share/config/kdenliverc (this will force the config wizard to run on next kdenlive start)

Hoping this procedure solve your problem.
