Newbie - one video track isn't 'moving' when rendered (shows ok in preview)
Tue Jul 28, 2009 12:47 pm
Hi
I have a three track project, all three tracks are from H264 MP4 files (generated using Handbrake with a target for the PSP), with a transition between Track 1 and 2 (Wipe), and then 2 and 3 (overlay). When I view the whole project in the preview, it works as expected. But when I render, Tracks 1 and 3 move, but Track 2 is still, probably showing the first frame of the track (the sound _does_ continue though). All three tracks are subclips of larger files, and Tracks 1 and 3 are subclips of the same file. I'm rendering to a YouTube preset, but this also happens on the MPEG2 preset (I've not tried on others)...am I doing something wrong? Thanks in advance Rich |

I can confirm this one, the same thing is happening to me. The first frame of one of the movies (in my case I only have 2, and it's the second one) is stuck for the rest of the movie after the transition.
I have tested to render to most of the formats and it's the same for all. Track1: 5 sec title Track2: 7 sec clip, no audio, grayscale effect Track3: same clip as above, but hole movie in color about 27 sec, with dissolve from 2 -> 3 in the last 2 sec after 7 sec of the project there is only a image of the first frame for the remaining 20 sec, audio is fine. |

I'm using Ubuntu (with Gnome, not KBuntu) Jaunty 9.04, with Kdenlive 0.7.5 from the standard repositories.
Sorry if I'm being an idiot, but how do I identify which version of MLT I'm using? Rich |

You can find out what version of mlt you are using by typing: melt --version
My is Kubuntu 9.04, 0.7.5, mlt 0.44 |

I've got 0.4.4 too:
--------- rich@rich-laptop:~$ melt -version MLT melt 0.4.4 Copyright (C) 2002-2009 Ushodaya Enterprises Limited This is free software; see the source for copying conditions. There is NO warranty; not even for MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. --------- The only difference I can see is that I'm using Ubuntu (with Gnome) rather than KBuntu. When I get a chance I will try with some other video files to see whether that makes any difference. |
