I made a 2 min 30 sec music vid. I have 4 files from which I took about 10 sub clips. I added titles, transition, and one mp3 track for the music. In the project monitor everything plays perfectly. My little movie is exactly the way I want it :-)
However!! Rendering to mpeg just plain crashes! Rendering to flv gives audio only. Rendering to any of the xvid options gives poor quality. Video is grainy ans stops and stutters frequently. Rendering to any of the avi or dv options gives excellent quality output, however it's not what I put in the timeline. It played the title then skipped the first clip entirely and filled in the other clips with what seems like random segments of the parent clips. It's as if there were a time shift in all my clips. The video quality is good, it's just not my movie. I've got about 30 hrs in to a 2 min video. It's almost there! HELP! I'm running Mepis 8 64 bit version. |

This is probably related to your FFmpeg installations. Please give us more infos:
Which version of Kdenlive, MLT and FFmpeg (libavformat) do you have? |

Smells like a bad build to me. Like some component was changed (e.g. libavcodec and libavformat) but MLT not rebuilt.

The flash rendering profile was also broken before Kdenlive 0.7.5. If you want to render to flash, either upgrade Kdenlive (but make a backup copy of your project file before opening it with the new version), or you can create a new rendering profile with the same parameters as flash, just adding:
progressive=1 at the end of the parameters. |

Thanks for the quick responses. I still have a problem but I have managed to render a video. Originally the settings were ATSC 1080i 50Hz. I noticed when I rendered DV it rendered nicely but my time line was shifted forward a number of seconds ruining my edits. So I switched the defaults to DV NTSC, re edited my clips and it rendered a perfect AVI file. It also rendered a perfect mp4 but only at 25000k 2 passes. Any other setting would crash. I do a lot of youtube stuff so flv and mpeg would be nice.
mpeg still crashes flv still no video I'm not one for compiling new software so until the upgrade shows up in the Mepis repo this is the version I'm stuck with. I bet a few setting changes might help. I'm slow so walk me through it. On the plus side I've been learning this and Vegas Pro at the same time and I can honestly say I like this editor better so far. Kudos guys. This is promising. :-) My first kdenlive project http://www.vimeo.com/6412079 |
