I produce a family video once each year. This year I was not able to produce a fullscreen video on the TV from the DVD player as I did last year. I used the same settings. This year the video filled about 3/4 of the TV screen in widescreen as opposed to last year when it was full screen. Same TV (Sony) and DVD player (Sony).
I normally have several hours of video from which I cut small clips of various sizes and render separately as *.dv clips which I combine for the final rendering of the complete family video. Here are my settings: Clip properties from a Panasonic SDR-H80 video cam: I record in 16:9 format mpeg-2 video, frame size 704x480, frame rate 29.97, par: .90909 (10/11) My Project and Render setting from last year: Project DV/DVD NTSC Clip Render: DV/NTSC 4:3 to give a *dv clip (why I used 4:3 I don't know) Render to file as VOB multiple *.dv clips for final video: 4:3 DVD VOB and set to open DVD wizard and then create the .iso file with the wizard and burn the DVD with K3B I tried both 4:3 and widescreen this year and both produced a less than full screen (about 3/4 screen) on the TV I have the most version 0.7.8 of kdenlive on ubuntu 10.04 (Lucid). Don't know what version of kdenlive was active in Dec 2009. Any suggestions to achieve full screen video on TV would be appreciated. Bob |

Does the rendered file appear fullscreen if you watch it on your computer (are there black bars not removable be resizing the preview window)?
