I have a quality problem in Arch Linux. Usually I'm using (K)Ubuntu for Kdenlive (because of the quality problem in Arch Linux), but because of some other issues I have with Kdenlive in (K)Ubuntu, I want to know, how I can get rid of my problem in Arch Linux.
First some infos: Kubuntu 10.04, 64bit Arch Linux, 32bit Kdenlive 0.7.7.1 (same for both distros), mlt 0.5.4 (same for both distros) Rendering parameters: f=mp4 acodec=libmp3lame ab=128k ar=44100 vcodec=mpeg4 minrate=0 b=6000k s=1366x768 aspect=%dar mbd=2 trellis=1 mv4=1 subq=7 qmin=10 qcomp=0.6 qdiff=4 qmax=51 pass=2 (same for both distros) I attached two pictures showing the rendering result for both distros. The Arch Linux one has a lower quality (and not good enough for me). I want to know: Why? And: How can I help to get the same result for both distros? (besides programming, I cannot program) |

Maybe a difference in ffmpeg.
Although I would expect Archlinux to have a newer version of ffmpeg. |

I changed the codec. libx264 increased the quality. Maybe Arch Linux doesn't like the mpeg4-codec. :-) Problem solved for me.
