h264/xvid/mpeg4 suddenly gone...

Wed Jan 20, 2010 4:11 pm
hi there

im having a weird problem...kdenlive was working ok and installed x264 codec cos i want to use it - im not sure if this caused the problem but later i noticed that i cannot render to h264/xvid/mp4 etc...x264 was not ever on the list...

then i tried to uninstall x264 , kdenlive, cinelerra, other video stuff i've got but nothing helps...problem persists...and wizard says that everything is okay!

im new into linux - how can i check if anything is missing/broken?? pls help!

sincerely

it has probably to do with libfaac not being supported any more..

what version are you using:
dist
ffmpeg
mlt
kdenlive
x264

You did not say which version of Linux you are using. In any case, if you have done a system update recently using yum or the equivalent, files may have been updated that affect your ffmpeg, melt or other kdenlive previously compiled or installed dependencies. Check your yum or equivalent "log" to see what files were installed in your last update. May provide a clue...
