Stream Copy

Fri Apr 09, 2010 1:40 pm
Hello community!

I downloaded to parts of a movie.
In order to "glue" them together I had to remove a small part at the end of the first file. Now I'd like to render these to files into one using Kdenlive...
But there seems to be no rendering profile that allows me just to *copy* the video and audio streams of the the source files...
(If I use a given rendering profile I always end up with black bars around the frames and some considerable quality loss)

Is there any way to accomplish a direct "stream copy"? I know that ffmpeg is capable of that since some GUI frontends allow this...

Could you please detail the steps you took? I was trying to do the same with avidemux, but somehow cannot open the second clip without loosing the first one...
I guess I am just stupid and don't see something obvious here.... but nevetrtheless, help!

1. File -> Open... (Select the video file that contains the first part)
2. Cut the pieces you don't want (Little tricky but I don't explain it further because you said you were having trouble with the next step...)
3. File -> Append... (Select the video file that contains the second part).

Thanks!

(I knew it was poking me into the nose, but sometimes one seems to be blind...)
