Ubuntu 9.04, Kdenlive 0.7.7.1 Mlt 0.5
Have read through many posts on this subject, saw no answer that seemed to apply. These are the errors I get - also note the Kernel message I suspect from the posts that a newer version of Mlt might help - but I don't know how to get one. I do see that Ubuntu 10.04 comes with Mlt 0.5.2, and I do see somewhere that Mlt version 0.5.4 is available. I don't know how to get this installed either. Other Render profiles did not seem to matter, but I tried VGA NTSC in Project Settings and it did render. Took 16:36 to render a 4:20 minute clip, which is slow compared to the Windows software I use
CPU usage at 100%, memory usage went up to over 1 GiB by the time it finished. I wonder what it would be for a 30 minute film What I was attempting to do was trim an old VHSC video from an old video camera which I had burned to DVD to archive. Therefore, all I was really doing was to take a VOB and edit it a bit and then create another VOB. The available Kdenlive manual is for an older version which bears little resemblence to the 0.7.7.1 I am using - also did not find any way of creating a DVD menu, which I think was possible according to the old manual. I guess I will have to stick with the Windows software for this kind of work - pity because I can manage to do everything else I want in Ubuntu. |

The memory usage is probably related to a memleak already fixed in mlt 0.5.4.
The DVD wizard is available under File -> DVD Wizard. In the render dialog there is also an option to launch it after rendering to vob. |
