Hi!
I am trying to edit some home video on kdenlive, and export/render to DVD format (PAL, 16:9, 2pass). The rendering works well, but when playing the resulting file, it freezes for about a minute and a half at each scene change (plain scene changes without transitions or effects, just two clips aligned on the same video track). Rendering to mpeg2 works well. No freeze there. This used to work well, but I cannot identify when it changed, due to infrequent film editing. My system is Ubuntu 10.10, I use Kdenlive 0.7.8. What other info could be useful for this....? The film is H.264 MTS, converted to DNxHD, and the resulting .mov files are the ones I have edited. Any help is warmly appreciated (by the whole family.....) (I also have issues with rendering to mpg4 - empty files of 256 bytes - but I guess that is not related) Magnus |

A DVD has a PAL (25) or NTSC (29.97) frame rate. Maybe you chose a frame rate different than your project profile setting.

Hi!
Thanks, that was helpful. I changed the project profile settings to 25 fps (I use PAL, Europe here), and after that, export to vob seems ok! I feel more than a bit confused and unclear about what this project profile setting does. Any suggestion on how to understand it somewhat better? Best, Magnus |
