Hi all,
how can I alter the embedded rendering profile, which kdenlive uses to render the proxy clips? In the corresponding dialog I can only show the options. I only want to enhance the resolution and the bitrate a little bit, because the quality is to bad. All other options and the aspect ratio should stay identical. Thanks Christian |

To change the proxy settings, go to Kdenlive's Settings dialog -> Project Defaults.
Here you will see the settings for proxy clips, and a configure button, click on it (1 on the screenshot). That will bring the "Manage encoding profiles" dialog. There you can edit or create new encoding profiles. To change the default, click on the "Edit profile" button (2 on the screenshot). That will bring the profile editing dialog. There you can change the parameters, for improved quality you can change the size (by default it is 480x270) or the bitrate (by default it is 150k) (3 on the screenshot). When you have changed that, make sure that your project uses this proxy setting, open the Project Settings (Project -> Project Settings) and change the Encoding profile to the correct profile. Hope it is clear. |

Many thanks for helping!
Now it works fine! In the past I haven't noticed, that in Kdenlive Main Config is an "open-end wrench" button. The "Project Settings" window looks very similar. Btw. the "Info" Button in Kdenlive's Main Config Dialog is showing the new settings only after a Kdenlive restart. But I can apply the altered profile immediately. Is this a minor bug? My current Version is 0.8.1 rev. 5836 build from source. Christian |

Thanks, I fixed the display bug you noticed in svn revision 5853.

This does not seem to work in Kdenlive version 0.8.3 sunab svn version (on Kubuntu 10.04LTS). Altering the bitrate or adding a proxy profile has no effect. All proxy clips remain in low quality. Deleting the proxy and regenerating the proxy results in the same file(size).

Works fine here with sunabs svn PPA. See file size change and mediainfo reports different codecs and frame sizes.
