After editing out the end an mpeg2 video 720x480 mp2 audio I render it into mpeg2 and save the resulting file. However, when I attempt to DVDAuthor it I get
DVDAuthor::dvdauthor, version 0.6.18. Build options: gnugetopt imagemagick iconv freetype fribidi Send bugs to INFO: Locale=en_US.UTF-8 INFO: Converting filenames to UTF-8 INFO: dvdauthor creating VTS STAT: Picking VTS 01 WARN: Skipping sector, waiting for first VOBU... ERR: SCR moves backwards, remultiplex input: 4563411210 < 4563435246 DVDAuthor process crashed. If I attempt to use DVDAuthor on the original unedited video it works. What is causing this? |

Maybe there is something about the ffmpeg-based MPEG-2 output that dvdauthor does not like. Please search the web for "ERR SCR moves backwards remultiplex" to see if you can figure out a workaround or ffmpeg command line option that improves it.
Wait a minute.. viewing some search results myself, I see another thread here: http://www.kdenlive.org/forum/rendering-slideshow-dvd Did you choose Destination: DVD in the Render dialog? You can not use generic MPEG-2! |

Sorry I forgot to tell you I actually had seen that page as I don't like to post if the answer is easily found and tried the solution. Here is the result of rendering to destination DVD from the drop down box.
Rendering of /home/username/kdenlive/Tioga.vob crashed It starts OK but after about 5-6% I get the above message. There is also a dialog that comes up stating that the resulting DVD would probably be corrupt. The strange thing is that all I'm doing is cutting a segment off the end and then rendering. The original mpeg2 file successfully completes the DVD Wizard with a DVD.iso file. Here is another strange thing. I can use DVDStyler to try and create an ISO and it works! I noticed though that DVDStyler does just I'm told to do in KdenLive. It demultplexes (using the mpgtx command in DVDAuthor) and then multiplexes back using the mplex command of DVDAuthor. Apparently KDENLIVE does not do this when it invokes DVDAuthor and for that reason it fails? Is there any way to force KdenLive to remultiplex? I've tried rendering into mp4 just to see what happens. Here is the result WARN: Partial sector read (1378 bytes); discarding data. STAT: VOBU 0 at 0MB, 1 PGCs DVDAuthor process crashed. Not sure what this means but it's a different error than before. Does anyone out there know? |
