Rendering Freezes on OpenSuse (KDE)

Mon Apr 04, 2011 11:23 pm
Greetings!

I am having trouble with rendering...

I have tried to render 3 different files (all originally .flv), and the entire system freezes upon reaching 64% completion for all three files, resulting in the need to power down.

The first file was cut in length, and the other two were exported as they were. I have tried various formats (Youtube with and without 2-pass, mpeg4...) but the freezing occurs in all instances.

Output files of considerable size could be found at the appropriate locations, but each consisting of nothing but a (shrinking) green strip.

I am running Kdenlive (downloaded from the Packman repository) on OpenSuse 11.3 (KDE). Any help would be appreciated...

Thank you =)

I am using kdenlive on openSUSE-11.3 (KDE4) and I don't have this problem. I am also using packages packaged by the packman packagers. Here are the version numbers of some of the packages I currently have installed:

kde4-kdenlive-0.7.8-1.pm.1.1.x86_64
mlt-0.6.2-1.pm.1.3.x86_64
libmlt++3-0.6.2-1.pm.1.3.x86_64
libmlt2-0.5.10-3.pm.3.16.x86_64
libmlt3-0.6.2-1.pm.1.3.x86_64
ffmpeg-0.6.201104091134git-20110409.pm.20110410.1.x86_64

I updated my kdenlive on openSUSE-11.3 (KDE4.4.4) to :

kdenlive-0.8-1.pm.1.1.x86_64
mlt-0.7.0-1.pm.2.2.x86_64
libmlt2-0.5.10-3.pm.3.16.x86_64
libmlt3-0.6.2-1.pm.1.3.x86_64
libmlt++3-0.7.0-1.pm.2.2.x86_64
libmlt4-0.7.0-1.pm.2.2.x86_64

and I still can not reproduce your rendering freezes. It works fine for me.
