I started using kdenlive to deal with the .mod-Files of my JVC-Camcorder.

According to this I renamed the Files to *.mpg, put them into my project, and set the PAR to 1,42 (as my genius camcorder does not altough I've recorded 16:9 footage)

SO everything is fine while editing but when I try to export it I get some black bars and a 4:3 picture again. (I chose "AVI DV > DV PAL 16:9" from the menu)

Did I miss something?

Ok sometimes reading can solve a lot :)
I missed the fact that the default ubuntu reps only provide an outdated version.

With 0.8 almost everything is fine now. (I only had to delete and re-apply speed-effects on some clips as otherwise these didn't change to 16:9)
