mute is disregarded in some cases?

Wed Jun 29, 2011 10:15 pm
Hi,

I am doing screencasts and using RecordMyDesktop (to record the desktop) and Cheese Webcam Booth (to record myslef) and then I combine the two using KDEnlive 0.8. (Running on Ubuntu 10.10).

I try to match the two recordings to be in sync and I set "mute" on one of them.
When I render it to "Websites / YouTube 640x480" this works well. When I render to "Websites / YouTube 1280 x 720" then I think the mute is disregard and I hear myself twice with a few frames difference.

I also tried to render using "Files / H.264 1000 k" and I had the same issue. I hear my voice twice.

I think in "Files / MPEG-4 1000 k" it is again muted.

Do I do something incorrectly? Is this a bug in KDEnlive?

Additional tests shows me that the problem might be unrelated to mute. I get similar bad sound in the h.264 rendering even if only one of the tracks had sound.
