How to render only changed material

Fri Aug 19, 2011 8:45 am
Hi,
I wonder if it is possible, and if how I could accomplish, that kdenlive only renders my output video material that has to be changed as a result of applied effects and transitions and so on but leave all the unaffected material as is and streams it to the output video without any recoding or compressing.
The footage comes in MTS clips from a Sony HDR-CX115E.

A huge thank in advance for your response.

Kind regards,
Rinus

Depending on the number of effects and transitions, this would give some vast rendering performance, true. But it will result in a movie segmented into better and worse quality parts (copied vs. rendered). Maybe the differences are invisible for the human eye, as have excellent bitrates today.

It could be an option for rendering, but in future it should also be possible to render out the complete timeline as Kdenlive does today (and creates consistent output quality).

No developer has expressed an interest in working on this.
