Hi, i'm stil new to video encoding and i'm not very experienced with the standards, so if i might forget to add some valuable informations, please give me a hint.
I'm recording with a Panasonic HDC-SD909 in 1080p/50fps mode (results in a .MTS stream) for video, audio gets displayed as 5.1 Dolby Digital (so AC3, i assume) if i press playback on the device. My target is, i want to encode to a BluRay compatible standard without unnecessary quality loss. Therefore, i would like to use the following settings: Video: H264 codec 1080p @ 23,97 fps Audio: AC3 (Dolby Digital 5.1) Container: .mkv Question A: Can somebody patch me up with a profile for this and is this the right fps rate for standard bluray playback used in the EU? Question B: Can i somehow pass-through the sound, since it's already Dolby Digital encoded, reencoding it would result in an unwanted quality loss. I found a BluRay Profile in the Contribute Section and adopted it partly to my needs by changing the output container, but i'm unsure how to set audio to passthrough. Thanks for your help. |
