Hi,
I need to synchronize audio with a screen recording 1664 x 940 px (because recordmydesktop went out of sync).
I put the video and the extracted audio to the timeline and cut the video and reduce velocity of the video to 43% an the video is synchronized again.

But: kdenlive forces me to choose 480p, 720p, ... . So the video becomes violatet. Is there a easy way to tell kdenlive to take the format like it is an render the video with the video only? - I could create a new custom project profile (Settings -> new custom project), okay, but every few days I have another screen recording with other sizes.

thx

Surprized that you have not had any response.

My Dell XPS-15 L521X notebook has a full HD display, etc. My Linux distros (more than 6 Ubuntu derivatives, multi-booting, with the latest stable kernel; ATM kernel 4.14.3), drivers uptodate, etc ... but I get the same error as you.

My data & apps are all on the motherboard's mSATA SSD. Memory: 16gb DDR3. The error occurs in both Kdenlive & Openshot. Screen capture is Synatbic's version of Recordmydesktop.

Looking at an old thread on the Openshot forum, someone suggested that Recordmydesktop's version of OGV was having problems. The recommendation was to avoid Recordmydesktop.

My Recordmydesktop setup is encode on-the-fly, save on-the-fly. Is this the problem?

On Youtube, no person has hinted on trouble with Recordmydesktop, but many
(all?) seem to avoid it, for unexplained reasons. I like it since it is a default inclusion on so many Linux distros, allows a-v capture simultaneously, etc.

I use Kazam screencaster for my screen recording needs.
Kdenlives screen grab functionality (ver 0.9.6) no-longer uses record my desktop. And it is working for me at the moment.
So you could try Kdenlives screen grab or the Kazam screencaster

i use simplescreenrecorder for desktop recording. it does an awesome job keeping the audio/video in sync because he actually has coding built into the software to ensure they're in sync.
