I am using Kdenlive 0.92 with Fedora 17 KDE.

There are 6 options for rendering as avi, but all are red, with the not "Unsupported audio codec: pcm_s16le".
How can I fix that?

Also, when I render as MPEG4, it seems to run through the whole rendering process, but then aborts because rendering crashed, stating "[swscaler @ 0xafb54ba0] Warning: data is not aligned! This can lead to a speedloss". As of now, I can't render videos in any way.

Anything that can get this programm working for me? Arranging and cutting clips is a real joy with it.

Some hints on the pcm_s16le codec are here (you placed a post there about a year ago):

Can you render to other codecs/containers except MPEG4? Does MPEG2 work, or AVI with some different audio codec?

Hi!

This should help: tick <Bypass codec verification> in the Kdenlive settings then restart Kdenlive, that's it.

Hi,
I have the same problem with Kdenlive 0.9.6 ( Melt 0.8.8 ) under Kubuntu 13.04 64bits. The problem already existed with kdenlive 0.9.2 under Kubuntu 12.10 64 bits.

It works for me, but the rendered AVI is not read correctly with VLC or Xine: the sound is interrupted every two seconds. With Windows Media, the sound is OK but the movie is accelerated ! But it is read correctly with GNOME Player and Avidemux.

Note that I have no problem with the AVIs I had rendered in 2011.

Cheers

Hi Vincent!

This sounds like a performance issue. I had some troubles with audio too, that was slightly distorted or seemed to be out of sync, when played back on various players. I checked the material in ardour3 to be sure if the audio tracks were in sync - everything ok. So I think it is maybe just a matter of using the appropriate codecs - lossless for editing on one hand and lightweight for presentation on the other. I have had some good results when using MPEG 2 (especially the lossless I-frame only profile), for transcoding and editing I like to use the DNxHD profiles.

Cheers
