Hey guys,
I'm new to Kdenlive, actually new to moviemaking outside of Window$ Movie Maker. I'm trying to make some movies, but I have had several issues. Here they are: The more stuff I do to the film, the more the clips get messed up. Here's an example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bA0bhkNP3R0 The other issue at the moment is that videos suddenly stopped moving in the preview. When I add an effect, the video turns into a still image. I would tremendously appreciate if I could get these issues solved. Also, I heard Kdenlive has a reverse clip option. Is this true? I couldn't seem to find it. Thanks! Nick |

Kdenlive is 0.9.6, I think this is the ffmpeg version: ffmpeg 6:0.8.6-1ubuntu2, and I have this for frei0r: frei0r-plugins 1.4.0
I'm sorry it's taken so long to reply. |

Those versions are pretty much the latest versions so that is not your problem. Do I take it that your main issue is stuttering audio in the render?
Have you tried rendering to a different format of file ? |

The audio stuttering is bad, but the clips not ending up in the correct place is a big issue for me.

Does your project profile settings match your source video settings ? ie what is your source format and what settings do you have for your project?

They match - Ok. What specifically is your source format and what settings do you have for your project?

check your settings, some settings on playback do not play well with some hardware like for me enabling opengl causes poor playback to the point that the controls stop responding and i have to kill kdenlive.
Also setting processing threads to 2 seems to reduce preview performance. What graphics card are you using, and driver? Depending on how powerfull your machine is and how powerfull your graphcis card are, there is going to be some stutter depending on the fx you use on your clips. Sheer and rotate cause poor playback, as well as putting titles over video clips. most effects do cause some stuttering in playback due to processing on the fly, however its atleast useable and the controls respond as i click on the transport buttons. You can try a daily build i have found them to work better than what comes with distros, however not every daily build i have tried has worked well, so you might have to try a few. |

How does enabling or disabling openGL affect the video? I am using proxy clips, which has helped. It appears that the speed effect is causing the biggest issue for me. When I adjust the speed on a clip, it displays only a still image in the preview. And I'm using 23.98 fps for the rendering profile and the same is the clip profile.

The speed effect seems to be broken at the moment!
