I wonder if you guys could help me...
I'm using a Panasonic HC-V720 camera in its 1080p setting, and it produces 50fps. For a project profile, there is the 1080p 50fps option. For render settings, there is not. What to do? I would like to get the highest quality out on the other end. Another question, which perhaps I should be posting separately. What is the best format to convert the AVCHD .mts files from my camera to more editing friendly clips, but also 1080p 50fps without loosing quality. Transcode clip option in kdenlive also doesn't have the 1080p 50fps option. I'm using kdenlive 0.9.6 on Fedora 19 on a 4 core i5 computer. And b.t.w. kdenlive seems like a great software. |

For the render profile: You can create your own render profiles as described here: http://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manual
Editing HD material: Preserving 1080p50, I doubt you will find any format for smooth editing when it comes to effects and transitions - the data to be rendered in realtime is too big and any CPU too slow. But: kdenlive supports you with proxy files for editing HD material - just select proxy files in the project settings. The default transcode options create files that are small but very low quality - but you can also create custom proxy settings with better quality here. |

Thank you very much for both tips. I will try both things out.

The manual is pretty basic with regards to the render settings and how to make a new one. Has anyone figured out how to set it for 1090p 50fps yet? Maybe it would be useful to have it in the presets. Since it is in the import settings. Also, what's the next best setting? So that no one will see the difference?
I also tried adjusting the proxy clip settings to something a little less pixalated, but it looks the same to me. Anyone has some standar definition like setting that work for them? |
