Hi!
I'm trying to find the most suitable codecs for frame accurate editing. I've tried editing my original MPEG2 (interframe encoded) files but can't seek accurately in the timeline. I know video files with GOP structures can be difficult to edit, so enabled the proxy option - but that didn't help. Looking at the proxy cache dir, mediainfo says that the files aren't i-frame only. Trying to use different proxy encoding settings has no effect (files are always generated as MPEG2 .ts with a GOP structure). Not sure if this is part of the problem? Converting src files to DV format before importing improves accuracy - but the encoded output is still consistently one frame out compared to the timeline preview. I created a stopwatch video and can see in the timeline the first frame of the clip is repeated twice - which doesn't happen in the rendered output (H.264 in .mp4 container). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks |
