Hi there!

This is my first post here, so I figure I should wish you a great 2014. Have a great 2014!

Ok: I have a question about rendering 4K video. I want to export 4K resolution video from Kdenlive in a format ultimately suitable for use with YouTube. I composed the project in Kdenlive using a 4K profile like the following:

At the point of rendering, I am unsure how to have Kdenlive output 4K video. The rendering settings now are as follows:

Could you advise me on how to export the video in 4K? Thanks for any assistance!

Hummm... What happens if you click "Render to file"? You can check the result with fffplay or ffprobe. It should be 4K, as long as mlt/ffmpeg support 4K. Do you have 4K source material? If you have 1080p you should not expand it to 4K because best render result will then be the native 1080p then.

And maybe you want to tag your profile as "progressive" as your profile above is interlaced and not very suitable for youtube. If you have interlaced footage you may want to set the scanning to "progressive" in the render dialog.
