Hi,
I'm pondering on buying a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera and I wonder if kdenlive can actually handle the CinemaDNG RAW format or the ProRES 422 format that camera uses. Are there any experiences to that? -Stefan |

Hey,
I have a BMPCC. Kdenlive works very good with the Apple ProRes codec. It adds the video file without problems and you can grade it, luma primary contrast, colour primary contrast, etc, using several Bézier curves. At the end saturation, denoiser or sharpen complete the colour grading. Usually, I proxy the files for fast editing, then I deactivate the proxy for colour grading. As far I've tried the CinemaRaw files cannot be imported in kdenlive. For that you need to process them before in darktable or rawtherapee to have series of bitmaps. I tried to develop a workflow using dartable + ffmpeg +kdenlive but it needs too much time so I decided to keep shooting in ProRes. Some of my videos shot with the BMPCC and Kdenlive editing: http://vimeo.com/user676337 viewtopic.php?f=266&t=120736 Cheers |
