Hello.
Maybe my problem is trivial, But I couldn't find solution myself. Please, help me with it. First of all My system Kubuntu 14.04, Kdenlive Version 0.9.8. I have project with 3 video tracks and 2 audio tracks. On video tracks (with muted audio) I have video clips. And on audio tracks I have two song clips. In preview window everything is Ok during playback. But when I render project (and "Export Audio" checkbox is checked, for sure) - there is no sound in output file. I tried all formats, everywhere is the same. Then I unmuted video tracks, rendered - I hear sounds from video clips, but no music from audio clips. Videos all filmed with Nikon D90, here is mediainfo output:
And Audio is a simple mp3 file:

Just to be safe: audio tracks themselves are unmuted?

Yes. Audio tracks are always unmuted. I also tried to add two more video tracks and place those audio clips there, just to check. Nothing changed.

Strange. When you extract audio from timelune video clips onto its own audio track, does it end up correctly in the rendered video? My idea here is to find out whether your audio files are causing the problems. Maybe you can transcode one of them into something simpler, such as wav ... just to be sure that this is not the cause?

Ok. problem mysteriously resolved by moving audio clips from NTFS partition.

Hi folks,
I have exactly the same problem, Kdenlive renders everything just fine except there is no audio. Audio tracks are unmuted, I can preview the video with audio but when rendered I can't get the audio. I have specifically checked "Export audio" option. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks ! |

I'm also having the exact same problem. I have a video I really need to send back to the client. I had to upgrade from 12.10 to 14.10 after my updates stopped working and KDENlive was basically freezing up. The uprade went 1000% smoother than I expected, but now all my videos render out silent regardless of what's going on with the timeline's audio. Also, the quality of the video output has gone radically south. I'm gettiing all sorts of artifacts that never happened before.
I did notice that when I go into "Configure tracks", that all my audio tracks show up as "hidden" and it won't let me uncheck the box for "hiddden". I even tried creating a new audio track, but it also comes out as hidden and won't let me unhide it. |

Same problem here, I can't get my audio tracks to render, and again in configure tracks audio is hidden by default. I can't even add another track from here.
I think this has to do with Ubuntu 14.10, because I recently upgraded my version... We are now in final beta, it would be nice to get any hint / update on this confirmed issue so that by the time the final release rolls out we can still use Kdenlive in Ubuntu. Thanks |

Hi,
This could be difficult to answer for a lot of people as it all depends on whose using 14.10. I'm using 14.04LTS because of its long term support and will stick with it. First off, as far as I know the hidden in configure tracks audio refers to video. If you place a clip with audio into a audio timeline just the audio plays but not the video, it's hidden. Handy, saves ripping audio sometimes. It would appear now that all adding and deleting of timelines is done from the timeline header only. Your no audio problem is more difficult. Is it 14.10?...sorry can't help. Does the wizard show a whole load of supported codecs? After upgrade, did you re-enable all the restricted codecs? I assume you have tested audio in a test Project with any old mp3 and a single clip and rendered out a small selected zone to confirm that it is not just related to your main project. There must be other things but my brain needs a drink. Good luck |

Hi normcross,
Thanks for your answer. Let me give you as much details as I can about the issue and things that I have already tried. I'm using Ubuntu 14.10 final BETA 64 bits. I have these multimedia packages installed : - restricted extras - vlc The startup wizard indicates that all the modules are correctly setup except DV module (libdv) which is apparently not found. Preview inside of Kdenlive works just fine with audio and everything. For some reason, Audio tracks are set as hidden in the configure tracks dialog. I have tried multiple export format, but none of the renders contains audio/sound. I have tried to render a single audio file, same issue... I may be missing something here, but I honestly don't see what... Thanks for the help ! |

Hi georgessmith,
Forget about the Configure Tracks. Mine says the same and audio works fine. I tried to explain it in my last post but I guess not very well My DV module(libdv) is ticked as installed. Looking through synaptic it says I have a "libdv4" installed. Have you? Oh, and libav-tools? Fishing in the dark here |

Well this is weird, both libdv4 and libav-tools are installed on my system. I have just double checked. My package are up to date. I really don't know Oh hell ! let's fish in the dark together ! |

Have you reproted this at http://kdenlive.org/mantis/ ?
BTW the hidden check boxes under configure tracks for audio is not releated. Hidden only refers to video tracks and configures whether they appear in the render or not. |
