Hi,
looking for more render profiles I clicked on "Settings"-->"Download New Render Profiles" but I only get an empty box with a seamingly infinite "Loading data" in the lower left of the window. I don't know if this is a bug or if just some web server is down or an IP address has changed or my configuration is broken or whatever.
I have kdenlive version 0.9.10 on 64bit openSUSE 13.1 with KDE 4.11.5.
Can anybody help?

P.S.: Also the site https://kdenlive.org/rendering-profiles linked here https://kdenlive.org/contribution-manual/how-share-your-rendering-profiles says "Access denied" :(

Since around August, 2013 when the kdenlive.org web site was refurbished this feature has been unavailable and the "Get Hot New Stuff" window will wait forever to update. See Mantis 3133.

The workaround is to create your own. Have a read of https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... enu/Render and particularly https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... r_Profiles
And see also https://userbase.kde.org/Special:MyLang ... Parameters

As explained in the page on the last link above Kdenlive 0.9.10 now makes use of melt presets. These can be found at /usr/share/mlt/presets/consumer/avformat/ and these supply a large number of render profiles that you can choose from to create your own kdenlive render profile. Using this method is very easy. You tell kdenlive which melt preset you want to use and it will use the parameters already set up for you in that preset.

So the download new render profiles is a bit redundant now.

I have added this info to the manual at https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... r_Profiles

Maybe the developers should remove these menu items from the app since I reckon they are redundant.

Thank you, that was really good, helpful information!
I had indeed already considered just creating my own profile but didn't know what to do about those mlt presets.

render profiles and title templates were previously hosted on kdenlive.org. However, due to architectural changes and spam attacks, this feature was disabled long ago. I am now migrating the hosting to store.kde.org, so we should hopefully see this feature back in the next weeks.

Good news, the downloadable render profiles and title templates are back online from store.kde.org.
I just pushed the update, and it will be fixed in Kdenlive 16.12

I have installed on my system the KDEnlive 16.08.2 version, from standard OpenSUSE 42.2 repository.
I am still receiving error to attempt to download the render profiles.
The error mentions the file called https://kdenlive.org/data/rendersources.xml.
Since you suggest store.kde.org as a source for downloading rendering profiles I guess the problem is the file path not updated.
You know if there is a configuration file that contains the path of the source?
In this way it could be modified and then get to work.
You also know the complete exact path?

Thanks.

Loading of providers from file: https://kdenlive.org/datarendersources.xml failed
