Interesting. I was about to say there is not a 14.04 daily build version. But lo and behold there is. This is a change. In the past the daily build options were kdenlive-fedora17-x86_64-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 for 64bit fedora kdenlive-ubuntu12.04-x86_64-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 is for 64bit ubuntu - (release 12.04 or higher) or other debian based distros kdenlive-ubuntu12.04-x86-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 (no 64 in the name ) for 32bit ubuntu - (release 12.04 or higher) or other debian based distros And there definitely was an issue with 32bit vs 64 bit systems. If you tried to run the 32bit version on 64 bit system it did not work - I know because I tried it. But now we still have kdenlive-ubuntu12.04-x86_64-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 and kdenlive-fedora17-x86_64-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 But instead of kdenlive-ubuntu12.04-x86-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 we have kdenlive-ubuntu14.04-x86-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 -both with no 64 in the name. So I might guess that kdenlive-ubuntu14.04-x86-YYYYMMDD.tar.bz2 is for 32 bit OSs. I wonder what the chances of it running on 32bit ubuntu12.04 ? Can anyone clear this up for me - so I can update the doco at https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... ily_builds |

Please test the steps provided in this thread (this message): viewtopic.php?f=272&t=124415#p328228 and let me know the results. I'm almost certain this will resolve your issue. I performed it nearly a dozen times to check for consistency. It worked perfectly every time. If it it can fail, I'm anxious to know. By the way, I don't know if this will work on the daily built. I didn't test it on the daily built, only the released version which you can find at: https://launchpad.net/~sunab/+archive/kdenlive-release -- L. James -- L. D. Hi,
I have a similar problem. I have been using Kdenlive for quite some time and I love it (if any of the developers is reading it GREAT THANKS guys). For the last two weeks however I have not been able to render a video with audio. I have tried different formats (mp4, webm, avi, mpg also mp3 when i tried to export just the audio part), I have tried different players (Videos, VLC, Audacity) to no avail. Audio works in other programs on my computer. I have tried various things I found in forums. I have reinstalled kdenlive, libmlt6, libmlt++3. My configuration is as follows: Ubuntu 18.04LTS, Kdenlive 18.08.2, MLT version 6.11.0. I will appreciate all suggestions you may have for me. I am not terribly experience user so please be detailed about the steps you recommend. Thanks, Jezew |
