I've searched for a few hours, cannot find/understand how to install LADSPA - I don't know much about Linux, using Mint 17.1
No idea how to "build" or compile, only used Software Manager and PPA or use the terminal for sudo apt I came from AdobePrem Pro and Windows, was hoping to adapt to Linux, but I feel like I spend most my time trouble shooting issues, this is the first post of any kind asking for help btw, so please go easy on me, I'm a noob. Vegas here's the error log: Rendering of /home/emachine/Videos/Angela_LPS_Videos_2015/Deathwish1_2.mp4 crashed No LADSPA plugins were found! Check your LADSPA_PATH environment variable. You should be able to install it using your package manager.
do you have the ladspa-sdk and swh-plugins packages installed ? On my 14.04 ubuntu they are in the Multimedia section - universe of the Ubuntu repositories |

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
Those packages were not installed and once I did install them and changed the rendering to MPEG-4 H.264/ACC everything rendered and played perfectly. So, this was solved by going into Administration > Synaptic Package Manager > Searching for LADSPA-SDK and SWH-PLUGINS > right clicking them and marking for installation, then Applying the changes. they should show a green box on the left, if installed and if white then they're not. Hope you don't mind me including all the steps, in case some other helpless user comes along with the same problem. Thanks. |

I'm having the same issue. Just upgraded from Xubuntu 14.04 to 15.04.
Rendering crashed. [libmp3lame @ 0x7f8b3c194b60] channel_layout not specified. Xubuntu 15.04, Kdenlive 0.9.10. ladspa-sdk and swh-plugins are both installed, as are xubuntu-restricted-extras and xubuntu-restristed-addons. Strange part is I can render small selected regions. It's only when I try to render a full project. |

But this is not the same error as in the original post "channel_layout not specified" <> "No LADSPA plugins were found! " "channel_layout not specified" - I am not sure what that error means. |

Should I start a new topic?
Also FWIW, h.264/AAC rendering is working for me. MPEG-4/MP3 is what's behaving badly. |
