Hi,

I am using kdenlive on Fedora22. My profile is HD 720p 30 fps:

My render settings are:
Image
Image

Code: Select all
$ cat /usr/share/mlt/presets/consumer/avformat/x264-medium
f=mp4

acodec=aac
ab=256k

vcodec=libx264
threads=0
vpre=medium
preset=medium

movflags=+faststart

meta.preset.extension=mp4
meta.preset.name=H.264 High Profile

My source clips vertical resolution are 720. But the resolution of the rendered video is small it is about half the size of 720p. Why?

As the rendering settings look quite promising to export a 720p movie it would be interesting what to know which size the rendered movie _exactly_ has. You can check that with ffprobe <moviename.mp4>

ffprobe says:
Stream #0:0(und): Video: h264 (High) (avc1 / 0x31637661), yuv420p(tv, unknown/unknown/iec61966-2-1), 854x480 [SAR 1:1 DAR 427:240], 2601 kb/s, 30 fps, 30 tbr, 15360 tbn, 60 tbc (default)

This project was made with kdenlive 0.9.6 on xubuntu. The resolution there was 854x480. Than I loaded and edited this project with kdenlive 0.9.10. I selected the 720p HD profile, but the rendered resolution remained the old 854x480. How could I fix it?

I have closed kdenlive and search&replaced all resolution data in the project file. Than I made a render. The resolution remained the old 854x480. I reopened the project file with a text editor and the my replacement had been overwritten with the old resolution.... Gypsy magic...

Solved. I had to change the Profile into HD 720p 30 fps in the Project settings too.
