Hi,
I use Samasung Galaxy S5 - which kdenlive profile should I use for (recording mode smooth)? HD 1080p 59.94 fps or HD 1080p 60 fps or other (as ffmpeg show 59.52 fps or 59.38 fps in second example)? What ffmpeg -i says:
The same Galaxy setting but very little different fps:

You probably should create one to match the format of your input video.

Right, but should I base on fps or fpr?
Is there any tutorial how to make a custom profile on information from ffpmeg -i ? I am old fashion kdenlive user and I can see there is many differences since 9.10. UPDATE I have some more info thanks to command: mediainfo. Looks my frame rate is variable, how to copy this video settings to my profile, so I could be identical. Is it possible?

The create custom project profiles dialog is the same in 15.04 and 0.9.10 - I just checked.
There is some instructions on how to do it here https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... t_Profiles But they are not very detailed. But it is all fairly self explainatory. I found that on my 15.04 version I had to create two folders (kdenlive/profiles) in ~/.local/share/ to make a valid path ~/.local/share/kdenlive/profiles for the custom project profile to save in. That is a defect in ver 15.04 As to what frame rate to use because you have variable frame rate. I dunno what do say about variable frame rate. That is a real new one to me. But looking at your media info data I think you could have a constant frame rate of 59.524 . So I would make a profile with that frame rate. Need to figure out how to specifiy that frame rate as a fraction of integers - n / m . Maybe you can just call that 60/1 Frame rate mode : Variable Frame rate : 59.524 fps Minimum frame rate : 56.782 fps Maximum frame rate : 62.981 fps |

I found I should keep a TV standard which is: 59.94 fps (know as 60fps)
In TV cinematic 24 fps are in reality is 23.97, so I know why my old films done in 24fps (Nikon D90) were chippy in YouTube, as D90 use 24 fps (eg. Nikon D5100 use 23.97 fps). So be careful when choosing your profile: More info I found is here: What's the difference between 59.94fps and 60fps? http://www.tvtechnology.com/media-syste ... fps/241737 |
