Hello everybody,
Rendering in my kdenlive suddenly stopped working (probably after an automatic update), and it can't render anything. It doesn't matter what format I choose, rendering crashes with message like: Requested output format 'mp4' is not a suitable output format I tried to update ffmpeg, melt, codecs and most of other stuff that I can relate to the problem, but nothing helps. I have no problems with playing any of video formats on my system, preview and all other functions in kdenlive work OK. My system is openSUSE 13.1 x86_64 on Toshiba Satellite with CPU i3 3120M @ 2.5 GHz. I would like to avoid upgrading my whole system for now, just to repair kdenlive rendering. Thanks! |

Do you use mlt from distro package or other binaries/builds? seems it is not linking properly with libavformat
Try to run the config wizard and see what codecs it has |

Thank you for your suggestion, that directed me how to find the cause of the problem. Yes, when I checked in the wizard, all important codecs were missing. In the meantime, I upgraded the system to openSUSE 13.2, but the problem still persisted. Finally, I discovered that one of the libraries was installed from VideoLAN repository, and as soon as I replaced it with the same version from Packman, everything started to work
Thanks again! |
