Few rendering questions :)

Fri Oct 02, 2015 3:59 pm
I want to be able to render a runescape classic private server without a problem is this doable on 2d versions, 3d versions even?

It is important to me to be able to render this game with ease. It's http://www.rsclegacy.com. That is the specific game I am talking about,

Well, image manipulation (resize 30 pics per second of movie) takes some time...

BTW: 768x508 has an aspect ratio of 1,54 while 1280x720p has 1.777. You will end up with bars anyway or with non square pixels. Just checked your examples and it looks that you are stretching the x-axis to fit to 1280 pixels in the clip without borders. If you want to keep the correct aspect ratio you could record in 854x480 for example. And then you could simply use a 720p project with 480p footage.

Do you see any chance to record in "native" 720p directly? As for the project rendering speed ... I'm afraid the only thing helping you is a *fast* CPU. It isn't so much about cores; four cores should already be fine. But the more MHz the better ... unless you have slow memory and lame disks, then the latter may be slowing down rendering. However my rather basic Core i7 system shows almost no I/O load...

There is no way to record 720p, because the game is not offering that resolution. The only way to have it full 720p is to stretch and have my render time 5x slower? I can deal with that if it has to be like that :)

I'm afraid, yes. Maybe movit support may speed up such things by offloading it into the GPU. However, I didn't got it working yet with my AMD graphics card. :(
