Low quality render for preview

Wed Jul 06, 2016 7:20 pm
Note I am using Kdenlive 0.9.6

As the videos are getting longer so are the rendering times.

So, I want a method for making low quality render for preview purposes. In other word if the clips are ok, transistions and soforth.

As I am using older machines to do the video editing. Rendering takes time.

Is it possible to set the quaily setting to a lower value as you can in "handbrake", "very fast", "fast". I am sure you know what I mean.

Since I am using an older version of Kdenlive and I have looked around in the graphical user interface without finding it.

What do I need to edit, to able to this and exactly where? Note the version I am using 0.9.6

Did I see something about this in the release notes on the newest version, that this is now reachable from with the graphical user interface? If, so I will definitely look into it later, but as for now I have a project that I need to finish first and this is still in 0.9.6

You can try the settings below for a custom render profile. Change slow to the preset you like and adjust crf if you like (bigger value = less quality, faster rendering)

properties=x264-medium preset=slow f=mp4 vcodec=libx264 acodec=aac g=120 crf=18 ab=128k
