Rendering to wrong dimensions

Sun Jan 01, 2017 10:33 am
Hi!

I'm trying to render some home videos, shot with a DV-cam, in 1920 x 1080 interlaced, 50fps. But: no matter which rendering profile I now choose, the output video is 720 x 576. I've tried changing the project profile, currently it is set to HD 1080i 50 fps.

Any suggestions on what's going on here?

Check if you clicked the "Resize" option in the "More Options" settings from the render dialog.

HI!

Resize unchecked.... but it is not under "More options" in my render dialog - there is no "more options"?

I guess it is something stupid. But frustrating not to find it......

Any other ideas? Anything to do with project profiles? I've changed that a couple of times for various reasons (it's a project file created in 2010).

So, your kdenlive version is quite old ("more options" came two or three vesions ago). Maybe give the current version a shot: https://kdenlive.org/download/

Hi!

Version is 15.12.3. Is that too old? Updated today as ubuntu package.

Hi again!

I guess this might have to do with me changing project profile at times (I really cannot recall why, probably because of misunderstanding of formats). I have used DVD PAL profile before, but probably also other profiles. Now I've changed to HD 1920 x 1080i 25 fps, since that is the format of the clips, according to clipe properties. But the output from rendering seems then to be stuck at a previous profile format.

Just now, I tried a kdenlive project that had the profile HDV 1440x1080i 25fps (again, don't ask why it had this profile -I don't know). Rendering from this produced video of 1440 x 1080. Changing the profile to HD 1920 x 1080i 25 fps still gives me rendered video of 1440 x 1080i.

So I tried something else: I copied a project file from which the output video is too low, and renamed the copy. Now this new profile gives me rendered video of 1920 x 1080.

So: it seems to me that there is something of profiles used before interferes with a new profile for a project. Is that possible? I have not used any resize option nor changed the properties of the clips.

One project file is at:

(there seems not to be an option to attach files here?)
