Hi,
I started a project and did not remember first to transcode my input video files into a editing friendly data format. Is there an easy way to swap the original files against the transcoded ones? Cheers, Wolf |

You want to enable proxy clips, I guess. Enabling proxy clips do the transcoding and replacing on render automatically.

Thanks for your idea. Unluckily, it does not help me. At me present project, allthough "proxy clips" is activated in settings, the "create proxy clip" menu entry is grayed out for each single track, so I cannot use this feature. (it works in newly created projects - no idea why; I'm discussing this here https://forum.kde.org/viewtopic.php?f=265&t=138766&p=371434&e=371434.)
But using a more editing-free file format can be a good thing for a number of reasons. As it takes some time to convert files, you will not always do it at the very beginning of a project - so it would be good to have a chance to do it later on. Cheers, Wolf |

you can enable proxies by going to the project settings and it wont be greyed out anymore. |
