Hi there,

I'm quite new to kdenlive. However, I have used it to create small personal videos with no issues on an old Lenovo Y530 laptop.
Recently, I built a new desktop machine, AMD FX-9590 8 core on an MSI 970 Gaming MB with 8 GB of ram and an Nvidia GT 710 card.
I am using kdenlive 17.04.1 and MLT 6.4.1. on a fully updated PCLinuxOS.
No matter what format I choose, the machine crashes every time I hit the 'Render' button. I have tried to roll back to earlier releases of both, and it seems to make no difference. Still a complete machine crash when hitting 'Render'.
I don't know where to even start looking for an error file or log. If I save a script and ask it to run the script, the script immediately says it has crashed.
I'm seeing quite a few posts about this very same problem, so if anyone has any suggestions on how to proceed troubleshooting this, I'd be very grateful. Thank you in advance.
M
