Hello,
I have a problem rendering my projects. When I start rendering the project the encoding starts, but after a while when it says 5s left it does not go forward. Depending on the format I can view the rendered video till the last seconds. Tested with H.264(mp4) and VP8. Platform: Ubuntu 17.04 Version: 4:16.12.3-0ubuntu1 |

First, you could start kdenlive on command line, maybe it writes something about the issue that stops rendering. And you can check at which point of the timeline the rendering stops: Open the .txt file in the render output folder. There you will see the last rendered frame and based on the framerate you can easily find that frame in the timeline. Maybe some effect applied there does not work properly - I have had that case some time ago.

As capslock said you may find an "Affine" transition making render to fail (while other just pass ok).
Please also check that you don't have GPU enabled. Eventually you can also try disabling MLT multithreading (in Kdenlive preferences, not the encoder threads): slower is better than crashing :\ |

[solved]
I tested both disabling GPU rendering and multithreading and it only crashes when both are enabled. If only multithreading or GPU rendering is enabled it works fine.(tested without any effects) Thanks for the help. |

Hello,
I noticed similar problem often. Usually, the rendering is terminated, only the report hang: the mp4 is perfectly readable, so I didn't manage to report before. Just now it happened to me when I tryed to stop the rendering (with the dedicated button - I noticed an error of mine). I use now kdenlive appimage 16.12.2. openSUSE Leap 42.2. The problem if than I can't make these not ended tasks to be removed, so I can't start a new one easily, I have to clic the task and ask for starting. Where are these task report stored (if I could remove them by hand?) I could check that the real task end with "ps ax | grep kdenlive" thanks jdd |
