NVIDA Logs, KDENLIVE LOGS, and NVIDIA CONTROL PANEL SETTINGS USED
KDENLIVE crashes when GPU Acceleration is enabled(enabling the movit library). I have tried multiple things and only some settings helped make the program more stable like enabling more thread for proxies and proxy clips and enabling more threads to MLT as well.. I have also gotten some stability back when switching all the MPEG and MJPEG options in kdenlive the X264 and setting the proxy clips for videos to 250 pixels and setting the proxy images setting to 100 pixels respectively.. After all of that it is STILL HIGHLY UNSTABLE. I have also seen lots of reports over on the nvidia forums and this has STILL not been solved... This happens when I try to scroll on the timeline, scrolling while playing on timeline, then pausing. This also happens when I try to render the timeline. Errors I get: When using timeline and kde crashes: kdenlive: resource_pool.cpp:577: GLuint movit::ResourcePool::create_vec2_vao(const std::set<int>&, GLuint): Assertion `vao_formats.count(key) == 0' failed. When I try to render the timline: Inconsistency detected by ld.so: dl-tls.c: 488: _dl_allocate_tls_init: Assertion `listp->slotinfo[cnt].gen <= GL(dl_tls_generation)' failed! Hello,
GPU & MLT multithreading are known to be both sources of stability problems. Maybe with MLT threads=1 you could have something usable, but the safest is to disable GPU (marked as experimental in Kdenlive settings!!!). We don't have any dev available to work on these issues. |

Thanks for replying, although I have a question: Do you think that this is an NVIDIA Driver problem more so than a Kdenlive problem or vice versa???
Also another question: You mentioned MLT, do you think that I should try and contact the MLT developers on this to see if there is a problem with MLT?? |
