Video Containing Photos Not Rendering Properly

I have a video that I've created as a template of sorts. It has 1 track of video & 1 track of photos. The video is in the bottom right corner while the photos are the main part of the screen.

The video is mkv. I've ripped the audio in wav & use this for the audio. So, the video syncs to the sound fine.

So I created the main template. Now when I go to edit the photos (mixture of jpg & png), deleting some photos & replacing them with others I get an intermittent problem. The photo that I use at the very beginning of the video is used at 3 different parts of the video. The 2nd instance of the clip is rendered shorter (time wise) than it is on the project (inside kdenlive), which causes everthing after that to be off time wise.

What's weird is that I can sometimes get the video to produce correctly by deleting the photo from the project bin & then just re-importing it, then rendering it again & it works fine. But this works intermittently.

I'm rendering in MP4 H.264/AAC fast if this helps.

I have a lot of these videos to make, so I need to get this problem fixed. Does anyone know what I can test with the setting or project to fix this?

use an image only once. if you need to use same image several times, then make the corresponding number of copies of the image with different names, add them to the project bin and place each of them only once on the timeline.

Thanks for your response. You have a nice work around, and I have resolved my issue. I think I found a bug or maybe just undesirable behavior. To reproduce it:

Drag the same image to the time line multiple times without resizing it. Then, add each of those clips to the specific place on the time line that you want it to display. Then, drag the image to fit your time slot for it. When you view the video in the project monitor, it displays fine. However, when you render it, the clips will not display for the proper duration which will throw everything off.

The solution: Add the image to your timeline. Adjust the image to fit your exact time slot. Add the image to your timeline again to a different section of your video. Adjust the image to fit your exact time slot again. Then repeat for as many times as you need the image to display in the video.

I hope this helps someone out there. I banged my head against my screen for a few days before I figured this out. I would imagine that your answer will also avoid this problem!
