Hello, I am fairly new at working with Kdenlive. I have some experience with other editors.

At the moment I am experiencing a problem with a 640x480 clip I've loaded and edited. When I export it, it is rendered in 1080p. It's not even fully upscaled to 1080p, but has thick black borders surrounding. I can't find a setting to export it in the original resolution.

I think the only way is to start again. Hit CTRL+SHIFT+, (comma) and tick under Misc “Check if first added clip matches project profile”. After you put the first clip into the project bin Kdenlive ask for adjust the project settings. Answer with yes. Render to mp4 shouldn’t be a problem.
