I am new to Kdenlive and video editing.
I have done a bit of googling with no success (quite likely I'm just not sure what I need to google - in which case some guidance on that would be awesome!) I'm on Windows and have just today installed Kdenlive - version 19.12.0 I have got some video files on my computer, from my phone. They are mp4 format. In Kdenlive, when I click add clip, and navigate to the folder where I saved the video files, they are just not visible. Am I right in thinking I need to download some sort of codec for this? Could anyone point me to instructions on how to do this for Kdenlive? Thanks! |

MP4 should work. Try to drag and drop the clips from the folder into the project bin.
Does the folder with the clips are on the same drive as Kdenlive or are the clips on an external USB drive? |

I tried drag and drop into the area on the left of the window (I presume that's the project bin?), it doesn't allow it - just has a 'no entry' kinda thing over the mouse pointer.
The files are on the same hard drive. |

Do you have installed a previous version of Kdenlive? What you can try is delete the kdenliverc file as descript here: https://userbase.kde.org/Kdenlive/Manua ... mport_clip
