20.12.0 xubuntu 20.04 LTS ( update kdenlive with stable repository from 19.x to 20.12.0 )
always crashing, 3 tests so far. This time after 18 minutes, and only this time a error message! two crashes before no error message, only "Using AVStream.codec ..." at beginning until "This can lead to a speed loss". Video rendering time always estimated 20 minutes, then increased to 37 minutes after 5 minutes. Unfortunately I don't have information at which frame/minute rendering crashes. Rendering with 50% quality, full project, H264, "Parallel processing ON" (without that 2 hrs estimated rendering time, untested so far), Project 720p 50fps @4th try to render: I stopped cron (service cron stop, I have many cron jobs running like automatic backup), close as many programs as possible (thunderbird, telegram, LO, chromium). Now more RAM is free: 3GB more! Now 4GB RAM free (of 12GB, core i7 e531i7-3632QM). Still running since 20 minutes. "remaining 15 minutes". Hope now renders to end. .... ohhh .. remaining time sinking to 4 minutes in 3 minutes during I was writing my report here!! @Rendering completed without error! BUT: title clips are often not positioned correctly, "transform" effect (move to right/left side) not considered, flickering at transitions , typewriter playing only first char, then nothing of whole text. I can't use that video (90MB) @testing section with 1/2 minute lengh: same bad result, bugs in mp4-video like told above. testing: without option "Parallel processing (experimental)": two differen 1/2 minute sections in timeline produce perfect video!! ==> I have to render without parallel processing. Now rendering lasts 3x times longer ... but I can cope with that I get my video, thats important. (With kdenlive 19.12.x I had not that problem, but there typewriter effect was not running / not installed, maybe thats confusing whole melting process?) |

the typewriter effect is a work in progress.. you have to use a released appimage: https://files.kde.org/kdenlive/release/ ... 4.appimage
or wait for the official 20.12 appimage |
