Hello,

I would like to render a project in Kdenlive to a .ts file. I don't see the option to do so in the Render drop down in the application but this post suggests that it is possible to do that from Kdenlive. I can convert from .mp4 to .ts using VLC but I was hoping to save time and just render to .ts directly from Kdenlive.

Is this possible?

Cheers,

Nobody knows the answer to this?

From my reading of this post I thought it might be possible to render a project directly to a .ts file but perhaps I am mistaken.

If I remember correctly.. there's a mpeg2 render profile on Kden render/export panel.. And since ts are mpeg2 files I think you could use it..

Select the mpeg2 profile from render panel, then create a new custom profile based on this.. set custom parameters and change the extension to "ts".

@kryxkave

Thank you very much for responding. I tried what you suggested but it doesn't achieve my goal. When I export as mpeg2 the file is seen as mpeg-ps and not mpeg-ts.

But it's ok, your post motivated me to try a few other things and my problem is solved it seems.

This was my goal:
I am using kdenlive to join several .ts files together into one. They are TV recordings made using an enigma2 satellite television PVR software. I need to create a meta data file to match with that kdenlive exported video file that can be read by the enigma2 PVR software when playing it back to give program description info.

I thought that these joined together video files needed to be transport stream files for my PVR to recognise my matching meta data file but I just realised they don't. I was just naming the meta data file incorrectly! It works with mp4 files also, so now I don't need the extra step of converting from the kdenlive created .mp4 file to a .ts file in VLC.

Thank you,

Flex
