Rendering Abort

Tue May 25, 2021 6:02 pm
Hi All,

I'm looking for some pointers here. I have a 1 hour long video with the usual selection of cuts and disolves. The source material is both h264/mp4 1080p and h264/AVCHD 1080p.

On Kdenlive 20.12.3 a render on a desktop to 1080p mp4 abandons around the 35 to 40 min timescale. Running the same render on a much lesser configured laptop aborts after 10 mins or so. But, the laptop will complete the render if I select an SD output format.

In my attempt to trace what might be tripping it up, on the desktop, I tried rendering the first 30 mins, then the next 10 and the next 10 and the final 10 to separate output files. All went fine and I concatenated the results with ffmpeg to get a good final file.

Is this some kind of resource issue? The desktop has 16G memory / i7, ample disk space.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Ken

have you tried a more recent version of kdenlive? https://download.kde.org/stable/kdenlive/21.04/
and also.. on what platform this happens? (Linux/Windows)
